Ringing: Swaddywell Pit

Male Yellowhammer

Our exploratory ringing session at Swaddywell Pit (owned and managed by the Langdyke Countryside Trust) this morning was hugely successful! Between 6.45am and 1.30pm, we trapped a grand total of 149 birds. Here are a few pictures.

Tree Sparrow (you can't age or sex them at this time of year)

Male Goldfinch

Yellowhammers

Male Blue Tit

There are lots of exciting plans for the site, including a nature trail which will be established soon. For now, you can access the site along the public footpaths marked on the OS map.
