Nene Washes
Snipe
Yellow Wagtails
Went for a stroll down the Nene Washes with Toadsnatcher. It was very pleasant, but could have been even more so if it wasn't so flippin' cold. The wind has turned north-easterly and it's still not very warm out there.
There were no unusual birds but all the regulars (Garganey, Lapwing, Black-tailed Godwit, Snipe, Marsh Harriers, Barn Owl, Redshank, Meadow Pipit) were doing their spectacular stuff. Hopefully it'll be a good breeding season.

A beautiful and well presented blog!
ReplyDeleteMost birds are underrated in my opinion!
Thanks for that very nice blog ! I would love to make pictures of birds, especially the ones I see everyday on my way to work. But it is still a bit difficult with my little coolpix and I am not a very good photograph...bird are usually moving too fast and are too small for my little camera to properly focus. But I keep trying and will visit you blog to learn about the english names of birds.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
Oh wow! Your pictures are beautiful, you really capture the essence of the bird, well thats what i thought. I have never really seen a bird as close as in your pictures! Now, I wish to take a few pics. of my own.
