We have the dreaded 'Killer' (Africanized) bees now around San Diego. They kept telling us they were coming and now they are here. So I do "stand well back" when seeing a bee -- and hornets or wasps!
This species is also here in Luxor Egypt it only tends to be near water. there was a hive in the watering hole near Hatshepsut temple that I had to pay a visit to while taking photos of the dmolished tomb robers houses. http://nilelife.blogspot.com/2009/08/watering-hole.html

ReplyDelete"Killer" bees would scare the crap out of me. hornets on the other hand are actually quite cuddly.
