Things that fly

Four-spotted Chaser
One in approximately 24 billion attempts to photograph dragonflies in flight. Still not sharp, but I can't afford to be fussy

Hummingbird Hawkmoth
This Hummingbird Hawkmoth fed on next-door's Buddleia before visiting our Lavender and mint

    Great shots.
The dragonflies in particular, but most things are too fast for me theses days
I recently managed a half decent attempt of a bumble bee in flight but the dragonflies leave me standing
    Keep up the good work

  2. Only 24 billion! Jings, you're good! I will manage it one day. Sob, sniff, sob.

  3. I can't tell you how many times I've been trying to track a flying dragonfly in the camera, waited for it to hover, half-pressed the button to focus and then just as all is good, the awkward insect zooms off in another direction. Gaaahhhhh.
